WELCOME TO ORANGUTAN HOME
Orangutan Home is a local tour brand offering journeys into Tanjung Puting National Park in Central Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo.
The trip begins in Pangkalan Bun, continues to the port of Kumai, then follows the Sekonyer River into the rainforest aboard a traditional klotok boat.
Our focus is simple: help travelers experience the forest with curiosity, respect and realistic expectations.
Orangutans and other wildlife live freely here. Sightings and animal activity can never be guaranteed.
INSIDE TANJUNG PUTING
Tanjung Puting is not only about reaching an orangutan feeding platform. The journey itself follows the Sekonyer River through forest, riverbanks and wildlife habitat, with much of your time spent observing the landscape from the klotok.
You may see proboscis monkeys, macaques, birds, monitor lizards and other wildlife along the way. Some days are active. Others are quieter. That unpredictability is part of travelling through a living rainforest.
OUR MAIN JOURNEY
Our main program is a three day, two night klotok journey through Tanjung Puting National Park.
The route is designed around the park’s main orangutan areas, river wildlife and time aboard the boat, with planned visits to Tanjung Harapan, Pondok Tanggui and Camp Leakey.
You will travel, eat, relax and sleep on the klotok, making the river part of the experience rather than simply a way to get from one stop to another.
Sleep aboard a traditional riverboat with simple comforts, forest views and time to experience the Sekonyer River at a slower pace.
Travel with local guides, observe wildlife respectfully and experience Tanjung Puting with a focus on education and responsible travel.
